Dr. Mathew Cheung is a native of Southern California. He received his medical school education from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Cheung completed his general surgery residency training from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine/Wyckoff Hospital, and he went on to complete his vascular surgery fellowship training from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Cheung received his Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2014.
Dr. Cheung is a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and has published many peer-reviewed publications and given presentations in the field of vascular surgery and endovascular therapy in subjects including peripheral artery disease (PAD), aortic aneurysm disease, and carotid artery disease, venous disease, and dialysis access management. He has been published in numerous articles in various scientific journals, including the Vascular Surgery journal, and Annals of Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Cheung believes in a patient-centered and technology-enabled approach to healthcare, as he values the progression of medicine through the application of new techniques and innovations. These technological advancements are one of the many reasons he became interested in Vascular Surgery, and he applies these new methodologies to the treatment of his patients. Dr. Cheung is fully committed to the highest standards of patient care. He emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle for disease prevention and optimal medical management when disease occurs.
